Level 2

Let’s get started on Alfred’s Basic Piano Library Level 2! This first lesson is a short review of some of the ideas we covered at the end of level 1B.

Learn about the quarter dot rhythm as you play some really fun songs.

Learn how to gradually move out of our 5-finger position.

Continue our lesson on moving out of position. Learn how your five fingers on one hand needs to be ready to play any one of six keys.

We finish our concept of moving around 6 different keys with each hand, while in C Position.

Now we learn to move around in G position.

Let’s finish up moving 5 fingers through 6 keys!

We are building the foundation to begin moving around he piano. Gradually adding one note to our hand position.

More of the same, but now we are in G Position.

Now is the time to start moving around the piano. This is the first of two lessons getting our hands to move up and down the keys.

These songs are FUN to master! This is the second video which teaches us to move around the piano in parallel intervals.

Now let’s go the other way! In order to play the note on the other side of our thumb, we need to learn to cross finger 2 over finger 1.

These songs are exciting and hard. Learn how to read notes for the left hand even though they are written for the right hand!
